Scott Swett is the creator of the website WinterSoldier.com, a research project he began during the 2004 presidential campaign to document the Vietnam-era "war crimes" propaganda campaign that undermined public support for America's defense of South Vietnam. The site became a key element of the veterans' anti-John Kerry effort, breaking a number of stories and providing crucial material for Dr. Jerry Corsi and John O'Neill's best-selling book "Unfit for Command." O’Neill and the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth then asked Mr. Swett to rewrite their web site. Re-launched in late July of 2004, SwiftVets.com surpassed MoveOn.org in traffic its first week and eventually raised more than $7 million for the Swift Vet / POW effort. Mr. Swett also worked closely with the creators of the POW documentary Stolen Honor and with organizers of the “Kerry Lied” rally in Washington DC. The conservative discussion forum FreeRepublic.com honored him as its 2004 “Freeper of the Year” for his work during the campaign. In 2005, Mr. Swett formed a website development company, New American Media Online Services, LLC (NAMOS), to create new political-themed web sites. NAMOS operates the Hillary Clinton Accountability Project, which documents the financial abuses of the 2000 Clinton Senate campaign. Mr. Swett spent most of his time in 2006 and 2007 working on the definitive book on the anti-Kerry movement of 2004. Before embarking on his new career in online politics in 2004, Mr. Swett worked for more than 20 years as a mainframe systems software developer.
